National Skill Qualifications Framework

The National Skill Qualifications Framework (NSQF) is a nationally integrated education and competency-based framework under the UGC that enables candidates to acquire desired competency levels. Built on an outcome-based approach, it provides multiple pathways for linking one level of learning to another higher level — promoting lifelong learning and skill development. The minimum eligibility for these courses is 10+2. In session 2020-21, the One-Year Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication was introduced on a self-finance basis, affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh. The NSQF Office facilitates the smooth running of the Diploma, communicates regularly with UGC and the affiliating University, and organises curriculum-linked activities including interactions with media personalities.
