The National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a single-window platform offering tens of millions of free, verified educational resources curated from across the country and the world. Developed by IIT Kharagpur and sponsored by the Ministry of Education, it is one of the largest learning resource platforms in the world — and free for every Indian student.
NDLI is a virtual repository of learning resources, mentored by India's Ministry of Education through the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT). Unlike a general-purpose search engine, NDLI indexes only educational resources and lets users refine results by educational level, subject domain, learning resource type and more.
For students of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, NDLI is an authoritative complement to our own library — bringing in textbooks, reference works, journal articles, theses, lectures and competitive exam material that go far beyond a single shelf.
"A single window to a nation's worth of learning — from primary school to post-doctoral research, accessible anywhere, in eleven languages."
NDLI also runs the NDLI Club programme, which lets institutions formally affiliate, conduct events, and issue MoE/IIT-Kharagpur participation certificates to their students. The College encourages registration for all postgraduate scholars and senior undergraduates.
NDLI brings together text, video, audio, simulations and exam-prep material curated from hundreds of contributing institutions, publishers and open repositories.
NCERT and CBSE textbooks, monographs and reference works across school and university levels.
Peer-reviewed research articles and scholarly papers across virtually every academic discipline.
University theses, project reports and dissertations — invaluable for postgraduate research.
Past examination papers from universities and competitive examinations like UPSC, GATE, NEET.
Recorded lectures from IITs, IIMs, NPTEL and other premier institutions across India.
Audio books and recordings — ideal for revising on the go or for accessibility needs.
Resources and an interface in 11 Indian languages — truly inclusive learning across regions.
Interactive simulations for science and engineering concepts — learning by experimenting.
