Why the Book Bank exists
Textbooks for the full course load can be a significant expense, and the Book Bank is the College's response — ensuring that no student is held back from full participation in their studies because of difficulty in purchasing prescribed books.
Who Can Apply
- Students from economically weaker backgrounds (subject to the College's eligibility norms)
- Students belonging to reserved categories as per government policy
- Other deserving students recommended by their class teacher or department
How It Works
- Eligible students apply at the start of the academic session through a prescribed form available at the library counter
- Applications are reviewed by the Librarian in consultation with the College administration
- Selected students are issued a set of prescribed textbooks for their course
- Books are issued for the full session and must be returned at the end
- Books are to be kept in good condition — wilful damage or loss is treated under standard library rules
Continuous Updating
The Book Bank collection is updated each academic session in line with revised syllabi and prescribed-book lists from departments. Departments are encouraged to share their textbook recommendations with the library well in advance of each session.
How to apply — Application forms are available at the library issue counter at the start of each session. Students may also approach their class teacher or the Librarian directly for guidance.
Donation: Alumni and well-wishers are warmly invited to contribute books or fund-support the Book Bank. Every contribution helps another student carry their course books home for the year.
